Why am I giving advice on Guitar Space?

I’ve been working in the music industry for 10 years. I’ve met and interviewed many professional guitarists in the time. I learn new information from them constantly, and this information may be difficult for a beginner
to acquire. I hope I can use this information I know to help a prospective guitarist.

What is my favorite guitar?

This is a tough one to answer! I have to say B.C. Rich guitars because my favorite guitarists played that brand. Chuck played various B.C. Rich models, but he’s best-known for the Stealth. B.C. Rich recreated this guitar to Chuck’s preferences and sells it under his name.

I also have to mention Dean Guitars, since they’re a hometown brand (I’m from Tampa). When I play bass, I play Ibanez. Schecter also makes good guitars, too.

What’s the best piece of advice I’d give to a beginning guitarist?

If you don’t have a good guitar teacher, get a new one. I stopped pursuing the bass because I was discouraged by my teacher. He was an amazing bassist but not a good teacher. Fortunately, with the internet, you have so many more options that I didn’t have.

What was the first song I learned how to play?

On guitar, “Smoke on the Water” by Deep Purple. On bass, “Brain Stew” by Green Day.
