More people are interested in learning the guitar. So much so to where we’re seeing a boom in guitar sales, as much as we saw in the Beatles era. And if you or a loved one is starting to play guitar, you’ll need a wardrobe to match your new passion. Fortunately, there are many guitar t-shirts that you can flaunt. Do you need some guitar t-shirt recommendations? You’re at the right place. Here, I will recommend some of the greatest guitarist t shirts and will answer some questions you may have when shopping for a guitar shirt.

There are no specific brands that make guitar t-shirts, at least none that I can find. However, some of the biggest names in music do make guitar apparel.
These brands include Guitar Center, Sweetwater, and Sam Ash. As stated previously, major musician manufacturers such as Fender, Martin, Steinberger, and Gibson. Many bands also feature guitar artwork in their logo.

Purple Explosion
I love how colorful this design is! It looks like the color exploded on the guitar. Mixed with bursts of blue and yellow, this is definitely a very unique look. On the white background, the colors look even more intense.
I also love the final touches of music notes surrounding the guitar. This shirt was designed by Aya Antoniya Nikolova and posted by @anicaartdesign. You can find this shirt on the Anica Art Design Etsy. Keep in mind, it doesn’t look like this shop ships outside of Europe.
Only Okayest
I could be biased, but funny guitar shirts are my favorite. And this one definitely put a smile on my face.
This is a shirt that says “World’s Okayest Guitar Player” and it definitely is the best shirt for your most okay guitar player loved ones.

Rainbow Guitars
Here’s a simple yet colorful shirt if you want to spice up your all-black guitar shirt wardrobe — it definitely proves that you can make bright colors fit into rock fashion.
This would also make a good Pride shirt for any guitar player. This shirt features a variety of different guitars in various colors. Sartoris Art designed this shirt and you can find it on TeePublic.
Bigfoot Shredding
Who knew Bigfoot was such a good guitar player? At least this shirt makes him out to be a guitar icon! This shirt features cartoon Bigfoot holding on the horns while animals around him cover their ears and ask for autographs.

I love the design of this shirt because it symbolizes everything that guitar is to a player. The guitar is life for so many players and is what keeps them going. In this shirt, the guitar is inside a heart rate monitor design.

I Like Guitars More Than People
Here’s another funny shirt that I absolutely love! This is a plain shirt that says “I like guitars and maybe two people.” It’s definitely the perfect gift for players who are more on the antisocial side (or simply would prefer spending time alone).
This was posted by @meeshirt_ and you can find this shirt on the MEE_ website. Keep in mind, this store is based in the UK. I can’t find any information on whether or not they ship internationally.
Guitar Star
Guitar Star is a clothing brand that makes guitar-inspired designs. I like their designs because they’re very vintage-looking.
They also make metal, rock, and punk-looking guitar shirts. These shirts are ones I found on Instagram, but they have a whole catalog of shirts on their website. They make shirts for both men and women as well as various accessories.
Always Listening to Guitar
Here’s another funny shirt that I love and can totally relate to! The shirt says, “it might look like I’m listening to you but in my head I’m playing guitar.”
I can relate because I often have songs and guitar riffs stuck in my head — and I pay more attention to those than whatever the person I’m with is saying! The shirt was posted by @yourock1971. It seems like this account made this shirt and a variety of other merch, though I can’t find a link to purchase this shirt.
Girl Shirt
As a girl myself, I wanted to find a specific guitar t-shirt for women. I found a couple, but this is the cutest and most unique one I found. It features a combination of notes arranged to look like a person holding a treble clef held sideways, meant to look like the notes are playing a treble clef guitar!
The store also features this design as a men’s shirt and on accessories such as socks, a face mask, hat, and a backpack. Posted by @luckilyprint and you can find this shirt and more on their TeePublic page.
Music Note Guitar
This is a really neat design! It featured a variety of music notes in the shape of a guitar. This is a woman’s shirt and is perfect to get for yourself or for a loved one who plays guitar.
The shirt was posted by @thevibrantdesigns and you can buy it on their TeeShopper page. This company also makes other shirts.
Keep in mind, this TeeShopper website is based in India. I can’t find any information on their international shipping policies, so you may only be able to buy this shirt if you live in India.
Guitar Anatomy
This shirt is really cool! It features an image of a guitar and points out the different parts of the instrument, such as the neck, fretboard, etc.
It’s a black shirt and definitely gives off a rock vibe. This image was posted by @deepskulltshirt and you can buy it on the Deep Skull T-Shirt website. Keep in mind, this is a Brazilian company, and can’t find any information about them shipping internationally.
Guitarists Have Superpowers
This shirt is cute! The caption says “music is my superpower” with an image of a guitar. While the shirt itself is black, the logo is multi-colored and also features a lightning bolt.
I like this shirt because deep down, guitar players really do have superpowers! This shirt was posted by @studio_akuma_design and you can buy it on Studio Akuma’s TeePublic page.

But ultimately, the guitar players you check out depend on the type of music you want to play. If you want to play rock music, I personally think Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine), Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), and John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili Peppers) are the best in that genre.
I’m a huge metal fan, so if that’s the music you want to play then I suggest starting with legendary guitarists in that genre such as Dimebag Darrell (Pantera).
Question: I Want to Make Guitar Playing My Job! How Can I do That?
Answer: Most professional guitar players make their living by recording and performing live. While you can achieve these goals easily, actually making a living off of your guitar playing will take years.
In the meantime, there are other opportunities to get paid for your playing while making connections and learning the tricks of the industry.
For example, you can be a session or fill-in musician. In other words, you’re not a permanent member of a band or contribute to the songwriting, but you fill in when needed and are paid for your efforts. Many guitar players also make their living by giving lessons to students.
