Pietro fell in love with the guitar at a young age and has been hooked ever since. He started gigging when he was 14 years old and hasn’t yet put his guitar down.

He’s performed in every possible situation, from weddings to pubs, to big stages in front of thousands and even on live TV. He wants to spread the word about the guitar and teach other people how to channel their passions and creativity into the instrument.

While he too understands that practicing can be boring, he wants to help you find ways to spice up your current routine so you can master a new skill each week!

Pietro has so much experience he brings here. In 2018, he was nominated for a Presidential Scholarship at Berklee College of Music, which means he was in the top 25 musicians (yeah, not just guitarists) from across the world auditioning that year.

He also has a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Jazz & Pop Guitar Performance from Saint Louis College of Music in Rome, he was also promoted to the teacher of his fellow students there.

Why am I giving advice on Guitar Space?

Learning how to play the guitar can be intimidating, especially if you don’t have any prior experience playing the guitar or don’t have any classical training. If it’s your first time holding a guitar, learning how to play a note may seem like a daunting task.

But, I’m here to help everyone (no matter what type of musical background you have) understand how to play the guitar. It’s such a versatile instrument, and a great way to channel your self-expression.

I want to help you (no matter what your musical background looks like) understand the basics of music theory, feel more powerful with your instrument in your hands, and find confidence in your abilities to master any (and I mean any) song put in front of you.

What is my favorite guitar?

My favorite guitar is a Les Paul. It’s such a versatile guitar; I’m not the type of person to stick with one genre of music, so I love how easily I can bounce around different genres with this guitar. From jazz to heavy metal, I can nearly play any genre of a Les Paul! Plus, they’re absolute beauties to look at too.

What’s the best piece of advice I’d give to a beginning guitarist?

Focus on one thing at a time. When you’re first starting out with your guitar journey, it’s super exciting! But, in that excitement, a lot of beginners try to learn a bunch of different songs at once.

Pick one song you want to learn and stick with it. Once you’ve mastered that song, it won’t take as long for you to learn the next one. If you try to learn how to play a whole bunch of different songs at once, you’re going to get frustrated and give up.

What song am I learning how to master now?

I’m learning how to play Oh Lord by NF. This isn’t an acoustic guitar originally, so I’m trying to make my own acoustic version of it that still keeps the same integrity as the original.

What was the first song I learned how to play?

I started out with acoustic guitar. I learned how to play Drown by Front Porch Step.
