If you’re looking for an online guitar learning program to make learning guitar easy and fun, we’ve got you covered. No, we aren’t talking about the ‘usual’ YouTube videos; we’re talking about a popular online guitar learning program – Totally Guitars.
The website comprises a large collection of well-structured courses and video lessons that can be helpful for beginners. Intermediate and advanced guitar players won’t be disappointed either. The Totally Guitars platform comprises 4000 lessons, more than 300 popular artists and fresh lessons are added each month. This is just a teaser and there’s a lot more you still need to know.
Advantages of online guitar learning over classroom sessions
While one-to-one classes are a luxury, they are often expensive and inconvenient. Moreover, you only get access to limited classes and in most of the cases, you have to attend classes based on the availability and work schedules of the instructors. However, when it comes to online guitar learning, things are completely different.
You have 24×7 access to online courses and lessons. Not only this but you also enroll for one-to-one classes based on your subscription plan. There’s no dearth of guitar learning material online.
Research shows that guitar training school charge almost $15 to $30 for every thirty minutes. That’s $75 for 5 classes each month. Definitely not pocket-friendly, right? You’ll be surprised to know that online guitar learning courses cost almost a fraction of the cost of classroom sessions.
The best things about online guitar learning are ‘daily practice,’ and ‘video players’ that allow you to replay lessons and songs as many times as you want. The result – faster learning and quicker progress.
Guitar lessons
When it comes to guitar lessons on the Totally Guitars platform, the ‘fingerstyle’ guitar method is popular among beginners. You’ll find a good number of fingerstyle picking courses on the online guitar learning platform.
The fingerstyle guitar method is the easiest and quickest method to learn the guitar initially. One of the most widely viewed fingerstyle picking lessons on the Totally Guitars platform is taught by Neil Hogan. The video is aimed at
Apart from fingerpicking guitar lessons for beginners, Totally Guitars also provides strumming lessons and step-by-step instructions to play the guitar using a hand pick.
Detailed instructions on the finger and accurate hand positioning allow beginners to learn how to play the guitar using more than one string at a time. Apart from this, you can find a long list of guitar lessons on the ‘Guitar Lessons’ page. You’ll find the following categories on this page:
- Target lessons by band
- 40 newest lessons
- Top 10 lessons
- Recent lesson recommendations
You can also sort the lessons on the basis of ‘difficulty levels.’ The only issue we could find with the guitar lessons is that there are no lessons for bass guitarists. So, if you want to learn bass, JamPlay can be a more suitable option for you.

Hi - about a year ago I bought a lesson for a song I was very anxious to learn by Eva Cassidy - I think I paid 15$ - I couldn't access that lesson no matter what I did - I felt frustrated, upset and that I had been ripped off. I tried to contact totally guitars to no avail. So I'm not feeling too happy with these folks. if you guys get this message will you contact me please? Id like to get my Eva Cassidy lesson and if you folks turn out to be legitimate I may buy more lessons but at the moment I'm skeptical. Thanks. Leslie Stuart
